Downeast.Net Internet customers transferring to 207 Technology Group Inc. (207ME.COM)

Effective 1/1/2009 the statewide customers of Downeast.net will have their Internet & E-mail services provided by 207ME.COM.

207ME.COM will honor all prepaid accounts prior to 1/1/2009, even for customers who may have canceled during the recent Downeast.net service interruption of early December. Service credits will be provided to all customers who may have lost service or prepaid monies during 2008.

Prior customers wishing to re-establish service need to call 1-888-229-2411 and request service credits.

Customers will be migrated over the next few weeks to 207ME's new and improved all V.92 statewide dialup network service with over 90 local access numbers around Maine. All customers will see a reduction in their monthly bill and also gain additional features such as Web Acceleration software to speed up website access, and an optional Call Alert service to get incoming call notifications when online.

Customers currently paying between $20 - $25 dollars per month can convert their existing subscription to $14.95 per month which includes unlimited Internet access, 6x web acceleration software, and the ability to keep their Downeast.net email addresses.

The Downeast.Net service was disrupted by previous owner Jordan Networks, LLC in early December. As a result, a group of concerned business people including the original founders of the service (Downeast.net LLC), a previous owner (Jim Troutman), and other local Internet businesses affected (Airolink Wireless, LLC) came together as a team to take over operations of Downeast.net and restore service to customers while looking for a long-term solution. All parties are working to insure minimal disruption as Internet and email services are migrated to 207ME.COM.

The founders of Downeast.net worked hard to pioneer and provide Internet service choices to the people of Maine, since the mid 1990s.
